The  Copenhagen Opera House is the national opera house of Denmark, and is amongst the most modern opera houses in the world.  It is also one of the most expensive opera houses ever built, with construction costs well over US$500 million.  It is located on the island of Holmen in central Copenhagen.  The Opera House is located opposite the Amalienborg Palace.   The opera house has been built especially for wheelchair users. It has balconies and walkways with magnificent views of the harbour and the city, which lead to the main auditorium, the heart of the building.
